Big Scarr’s sister responded after Keyshia Ka’oir shared receipts showing Gucci Mane’s contribution to Scarr’s funeral, amidst accusations that Mane reneged on his promise to do so.
His sister acknowledged that $20,000 was sent, however, the funeral costs were $60,000, and Gucci’s contribution was only enough for “obituaries and flowers.”
Big Scarr’s Sister Acknowledges Some Money Was Sent, But Only Enough For “Obituaries And Flowers”
“That sh** was only for obituaries and flowers, boo,” Scarr’s sister can be heard saying on an Instagram video.
On Monday (Jan. 9), Ka’oir posted a series of Instagram Stories that, according to her, proved that Gucci kept his word in paying for Big Scarr’s funeral expenses.
The 1017 boss was accused of taking back his initial offer to cover the late Memphis rapper’s burial costs, following the 2022 XXL Freshman’s passing on Dec. 22, The Shade Room previously reported.
“Payment directly to funeral home,” Gucci’s wife captioned her first IG Story alongside a photo of a $10,000 receipt from N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home dated Dec. 30, 2022. “Leave my husband alone.”
In a second Instagram Story, Keyshia posted another screenshot as proof of payment. This time she revealed an apparent email with Big Scarr’s government name, Alexander Woods, serving as the email’s subject line.
“[Gucci Mane] did this out of the goodness of his heart,” she captioned the photo.
Gucci Mane’s Wife Claims Family Sent Flowers To Scarr’s Funeral, Without Receiving A Thank You
The Atlanta rapper’s wife went on to say that Gucci and his family also sent flowers to Scarr’s funeral service, without ever receiving a thank you.
In her final post on the matter, Keyshia posted a photo of a second receipt from N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, which showed that an additional $10,000 payment and been made on Jan. 2.
“We also sent flowers [and] not even a thank you,” wrote Gucci Mane’s wife. “$20K total. [Gucci Mane] what you did to these folks, mane?”
Keyshia’s proof of the $20,000 payment comes after Big Scarr’s friend and frequent collaborator, Quezz Ruthless, who recently said that Gucci Mane reneged on his promise to pay for the entirety of the funeral arrangements.
“Them people called your phone to see if you was gon’ pay for the funeral, you blocked them,” Quezz claimed via Instagram Live on Sunday (Jan. 8). “That’s not real. On God, that’s not real. That ain’t straight…You trying to act all real. You posted Scarr, talking ’bout some ‘Love Live him.’ You aint’ do nothing.”
Gucci Mane Protege Died At 22 Reportedly From Overdose Of Prescription Medication
On Monday (Jan. 9), Gucci Mane’s team released a statement claiming the rapper made good on his offer to pay for Big Scarr’s funeral costs.
“This information is incorrect. Gucci Mane paid $20,000 directly to the funeral home for Scarr’s funeral.”
Mane’s protege and rising Tennessee rapper Big Scarr died at the age of 22, his mentor confirmed in an Instagram post last week. Scarr, who was signed to Mane’s label 1017 Records, reportedly died from an overdose of prescription pills, his uncle told TMZ.
